Join us in Greece
We will be a small group of curious travelers seeking the food, wine, beauty, and even mythology of Athens and Crete. The 10-day trip begins Wednesday September 23 and ends Friday October 2.

We will enjoy local regional cuisine, with hand-picked restaurants, small tavernas, and meze dinners. We'll also enjoy an evening learning local cooking customs with a Crete family who will share their farm with us to make a delicious dinner.

A highlight of our trip is Delphi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most fascinating historic sites of Europe. We'll also explore King Knossos's palace on Crete where the original Labyrinth is, as part of our quest to see the magnificent landscapes of literature and myth.
Retreat leader Holly Bellebuono's book Once Upon a Place seeks the mythic settings of Greece, including the Forests, Caves, and Vessels of this ancient landscape.

The island of Crete is the fifth largest island in the Mediterranean, home to seashores, forests, valleys, and cobblestone Venetian harbors and Medieval cities.

We will bask on the sunny autumn beaches of southern Crete, including Elofonissi Beach, the "pink" beach famous for its wide sandy shore.

And hike to Agia Sofia cave, a historic landmark harking back to the ancient stories that make up the heritage of Crete.

Our lodgings will include luxury hotels in Athens and Heraklion, plus a wonderful family-owned villa in the heart of Crete near Chania. This comfortable villa features an outdoor pool and plenty of room for relaxation during our retreat.

Ideal for gardeners, herbalists, aromatherapists, and plant-lovers, this journey will explore the fragrant herbs of Greece. We'll meander through the Crete Botanic Gardens and harvest herbs from the villa's private gardens as we sample wines, honeys, and cheeses of the region.
